He is the longest-tenured Broncos player and was John Elway's first draft pick as the team's top football executive. Elway stepped away from the general manager's role earlier this year before Paton was hired in January.

Either way, fortunately, he’s shown in the past to be a promising pass-blocker, posting pass-pro PFF grades of 71.1, 66.2, and 73.6 before falling off to 59.6 in 2020. He probably won’t return kicks or punts in the NFL, but Brown is willing to play on coverage units and still hits like a truck, ala his linebacker days.
Chris Carson easily has the best and most consistent resume of this cohort. He’s developed into an excellent power back for Seattle and even showed strong chops as a receiver in 2020. Even though he has a rugged “old man” style of play, he won’t turn 27 until September. If he landed with the right team (a strong offense on a contending squad), he’d still be a good bet to be undervalued in fantasy football. I may have slighted him by putting him in this group.
The Jets are now run by a qualified and well-regarded brain trust led by general manager Joe Douglas and head coach Robert Saleh, not the backstabbers, blowhards, back-room politicians and over-promoted suit-fillers who ran the organization in years and decades past. They possess the second, 23rd, 34th, 66th and 91st-overall picks, meaning they should come out of the 2021 draft with several future impact players, including (probably) a new franchise quarterback.

With that being said, it really does look like this marriage is about to come to an end. With Smith-Schuster set to become an unrestricted free agent later this month, even the Steelers’ own website posted that it’s unlikely the team will be able to offer him the kind of money he’ll be looking for.
NFL free agency is spotlighted, but don’t forget about the three most important contracts of the offseason in Dak Prescott, Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson.
Seattle Seahawks
The New Orleans Saints have continued to work to retain their pending free agents despite inhabiting some low ring of Salary Cap Hell. Running back Ty Montgomery is the latest player to return to the black and gold, the team announced Saturday. NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported that it’s a one-year deal at the veteran’s minimum, including a $137,500 signing bonus.
